Thank you for reading Breakthru Nigeria

I want to say a big thank you for reading Breakthru Nigeria.

I am delighted at the speed at which you read the posts I post here.

May your rewards not be small.

I am appreciative of you, particularly those outside the shore of the country, Nigeria, because about 80%  of the viewers so far are resident outside Nigeria. I never gave a thought to my readers coming from outside the country.

Although we are young, we intend to go far and become great.
Presently, I do not blog daily. Although I wanted to do, but for the very poor internet connection and its cost.  Sometimes i spend about seven hours trying to upload just two posts. This last post Nigerian Student Breaks 50-yr Record In Japan University, earns 1st degree, builds car, succeeded at the third night.
It wasn't that there are no good stories to publish, but the frustrating internet connection has prevented me from posting them.

I would like you to know that we have Breakthru South Africa, Breakthru Kenya and Breakthru Ghana already. But Breakthru Nigeria remains the number one. I have not been able to post on these blogs because of the same poor access.I hope to switch to another internet service provider when our resources improve.

IMPORTANT: Breakthru Nigeria and Others do not write the stories, news or reports posted on their blogs. What we do is simply
TO DOCUMENT THE SUCCESS STORIES OF NATIONS.

BreakthruNigeria- Spreading good news about Nigeria(ns).

THANK YOU.

Breakthru Nigeria: Telling our Success stories.

He won the best engineering student award in the Faculty of Engineering at the undergraduate category, as well as the university president’s prestigious award for the best all-round student.

Mr. Ekong also won Japanese language award for foreigners and solved a mathematical equation that could not be solved for the past 30 years in his first semester.

Aside from paying himself through school, Ufot who is now doing his Phd, works at Nissan, has two patented products.

For his project, he made an electric car that goes as fast as 128 kilometres per hour.

The car drives on charged batteries. He plans to drive it May 29, in Abuja, Nigeria to celebrate Buhari’s inauguration.

He speaks English, Yoruba, French and Japanese.

Mr. Ufot Ekong, a multi-talented Nigerian youth, has artistry in music, specialising in Saxophone. He distinguished himself from the outset in the school when he won the Japanese language best student award.

The self-sponsored student, who combined two jobs with studies, won many other awards in the University, altogether numbering about six.

Ufot, who lived in Lagos while in Nigeria, is a Saxophone master and the director of Strictly African Japan, an African retail wears and accessories shop.

The Ministry of Solid Minerals Development on Monday confirmed the discovery of Nickel in parts of Kaduna State in North-West Nigeria.
Permanent Secretary, Mohammed Abbas, said the ministry had been following up on the report by its technical experts since the first discovery was made several months ago.
"The Ministry is aware of the occurrence of the mineral in parts of Kaduna State," the statement said. "Since the first discovery many months ago, technical experts from the ministry have been following up on this development as provided by law.
The ministry urged Nigerians to allow government come up with detailed reports on the new find towards its development.
The statement confirmed a report by PREMIUM TIMES that a private mining syndicate had discovered nickel in Nigeria.
The private mining syndicate headed by Hugh Morgan, a mining industry veteran, described the discovery as unusual since it was found in small balls of about three millimeters in diameter and of a high purity in shallow soils, indicative of the existence of a larger hard-rock Nickel field in the area.
Breakthru Nigeria: Telling our Success stories.
The discovery was said to be around Dangoma, a small farming town about 160 kilometres northeast of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja. The community also borders Kaduna state to the west.
Nickel could potentially be a high foreign exchange earner for Nigeria, particularly at a time the country's economy was facing the blight of declining global crude oil prices.
Nickel is sold primarily for first use as refined metal in manufacturing of many other alloys, while about 65 per cent of it is consumed in the West, used for the production of stainless steel products.
Nigeria could join some of the world's largest producers of Nickel, which include Philippines, Indonesia, Russia, Canada, and Australia, according to the US Geological Survey.
At the moment, Nigeria's current output of Nickel is below 2.5 metric tons per annum, produced mainly from scrap irons.
The discovery of the mineral in large volume could see the country's production capacity increased significantly, as government has already shown commitment to raise its capacity to meet the country's annual steel demand of 6.8 metric tons, Mr. Fayemi told Bloomberg recently.

Another Nigerian Emerges Oxford University Best Finance Law Student

After an Alumnus of LASU, Romola Adeola Earlier this year, became the youngest Ph.D holder in the 107year history of Centre of Human Rights, University of Pretoria, South Africa at the age of 26 years, another Nigerian, Iheanatu-Geoffrey has emerged as the best finance student at the Oxford University

"Success is no guess work, it's the product of practical engagement and test of principles. It represents the wise choice of many alternatives. This has led me to consistently defy my young age and challenge myself academically and intellectually to achieve record-breaking feats. To me, excellence belongs to those who strive to attain it and who are not afraid to compete at the highest levels against the very best in the world".

This was an excerpt of an e-mail written by Iheanatu-Geoffrey, a quintessential graduate of Law of Lagos State University to proudly announce his latest international award to the Vice Chancellor, Professor 'Lanre Fagbohun.
The award is the prestigious Oxford University Allen and Overy Best Student Prize in Corporate Finance Law for year 2016, "an award given to the overall best student (from amongst the Master in Law and Finance [MLF] and Magister Juries [MJUR] candidates), with most outstanding performance in the Corporate Finance Law, Examination at the Faculty of Law, University of Oxford, United Kingdom.
Breakthru Nigeria: Telling our success story.
Geoffrey's award is by no means an easy feat. Apart from the fact that it was earned at one of the oldest and most prestigious Universities in the world, where academic standard is at its peak, Oxford University, it was achieved after a feisty intellectual competition among Fourty-Four (44) First Class brains from Thirty-Three(33) counties of the World.

The achievement has once again accentuated the world-class quality of teaching and research of the Lagos State University, and cemented the place of her graduates as some of the best in the world, an assertion succinctly put by Chinedu Geoffrey himself, thus: "I am very proud of my alma mater, Lagos State University especially LASULAWS, for equipping me with the requisite tools I needed for this global achievement. I strongly believe that the academic rigours in LASU adequately laid the foundation for the demanding intellectual program at the University of Oxford, culminating in this great success".
